Microsoft .NET 3.0 is the new managed code programming model for Windows. It combines the power of the .NET Framework 2.0 with new technologies including: Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), and Windows Workflow Foundation (WF).

JunctionISS leverages Microsoft Windows Presentation (WPF) to offer a visually compelling user interface (UI) using Microsoft’s Expression Blend program. While other retail solutions require technical users or developers to make changes to the UI, WPF allows non-technical users to quickly and easily make UI modifications. This shifts the UI customization out of the IT department into the retail store. WPF also supports a full range of multimedia, which can be integrated into the UI to provide product information and training tools.

JunctionISS leverages the communications and security capability found in Microsoft Windows Communications Foundation (WCF) for a robust, scalable and highly secure operating environment and Microsoft Workflow Foundation (WF) for controlling operations at the point-of-sale. WF is an industry standard and widely used workflow technology that is powerful and flexible enough for current and emerging technological requirements. The UI is designed for touch screen capability which allows for ease-of-use, reduced errors, and reduced training costs. Multimedia files can also be integrated in order to provide product information and demonstrations, training or an interactive customer experience.

Online/Offline Capability
Online/Offline capability provides seamless continuity so your sales associates can continue to use the system event if the network connection is lost. JunctionISS will automatically synchronize with the server once the connection is restored.
